I photographed this tree in the Knysna forest while hiking there. It looks like something should be living there, but nothing is. Probably too close to the ground. If I could think something should be living there, so could most predators.

What about a predator living there - scorpions like trees and bark :) Or maybe something with a sharp beak that takes no nonsense...maybe a bit damp for a bloukop koggelmander. Seeing the tree and the forest makes me verlang for the Otter Trail, forest and sea in general. Oh it's so far away.
