Rocks

Colour is a wonderful thing. There is however still something to be said for monochrome. To just see the shapes and light. As you could probably guess, I like Black and White pictures.

Buffalo Bay

Another rock pool at Buffalo Bay, South Africa. I liked the play of light in the clouds. The bright white line is not a light leak or similar. There was a white line in the sky.

Rock Pool

Rock pools at Buffalo Bay, South Cape, South Africa. To have been there right now rather than sitting in front of a computer screen in Johannesburg! But not being able to be there all the time probably adds to the value of the memory.

Castle Rock

This rock is called 'Castle Rock' due to its shape and resemblance to an ancient castle.

Buffalo Bay Waves

I took this picture at Buffalo Bay, South Africa. Various storm fronts moved around the coast resulting in strong wind and spectacular waves.

Cape Town Harbour

The harbour at Cape Town from the V&A waterfront. The harbour developed into a vibrant shopping and tourist hot spot. The nearby aquarium is worth a visit.

Table Mountain

Table Mountain remains one of South Africa's special sights. This view was special to me as I last saw the mountain in this way when I serviced in the Navy many years ago.

Table Mountain from Robbin Island

This is Table Mountain as seen from Robbin Island. It must have added to the feeling of being banned from society, having to see this every day but not being allowed to be there.

Lake near Sedgefield

I took this photograph of the salt water lake near Sedgefield early one morning. To me, it was such a peaceful scene. The rays of the sun just reaching the shore, with the sounds of birds and people taking their dogs for an early morning stroll.

Rock pool

Wish I was sitting here rather than in the city in front of my computer.....
